The power of giving back

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

I believe the power of giving back lies in helping people develop the skills they need to grow and tap into their full potential.

My way of giving back is to support the youth work on their own emotional fitness.

As a strong believer in the power that comes with giving back, I set out to create a self-development and coaching program to help young athletes at the Champ Champ at Al-Balqa’a Refugee Camp in Jordan. Just like its name suggests, Bloom is designed to train, motivate and inspire young athletes to bloom and prosper! Through a series of different interactive workshops, young athletes have the chance to learn about skills that can prepare them for a better future.

Series 1: Self Development: A six-month self-development program that allowed the champions to learn interpersonal skills, develop their emotional fitness, and become more comfortable with ambiguity.

Series 2: Entrepreneurship and Innovation: An intensive 5-week Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program that helped foster new opportunities for the young champs, allowing them to develop and implement solutions to social, cultural, and environmental issues in their societies. The program helped facilitate new initiatives that will improve individuals’ well-being and the overall atmosphere in the communities at Al-Balqa’a.
